If you have contact lenses then there is a good chance that you know a good bit about them. However, there is also a good chance that there is quite a bit that you do not know about these little lenses that help you see better. If you have a good eye doctor they may have clued you in on some of the finer points. If you do not have a good eye doctor, or at least a good relationship with them, then there are some things that they may not be telling. These things that they aren’t telling you are nothing major but are just facts that everyone that wears contacts should know.
One of the most important things that never get shared with patients these days is the fact that you do not have to have disposable contact lenses. As we all know, contact lenses are very, very expensive. You are stuck with paying for disposable lenses each time you run out. The bill for these lenses is usually hundreds of dollars as most insurance companies will not pay for the lenses at all or in full. If you have trouble paying that bill a few times a year you should look into getting contact lenses that are not disposable. These lenses work the same as the disposable ones but you never have to throw them away. They will last you as long as your prescription doesn’t change. The only thing that you will need to do is thoroughly clean them each night when you take them out of your eyes. By taking care of the lenses you should be able to have them for years on end especially if your eyes do not become any weaker. This will mean that you only have to make one purchase as opposed to making a purchase each time you run out of disposable lenses.
Another thing that the eye doctor is not telling you is the fact that you can get your lenses online for cheaper than what you are buying them for at the office. The eye doctor does not tell you this because when you buy from them they make a small affiliate commission. When you decide to buy online they do not get paid a dime. The simple fact is that if you look around at a few different websites you will be able to find the lenses that you need for a cheaper price than you are used to.
