Sunglasses are a common fashion accessory, but if you are conscious enough of your health and your comfort or even your security while driving, so that you use sunglasses in these moments to make you see well and to shield your eyes from harm, why shouldn’t you also try to protect your eyes when they’re most endangered, i.e. during your work and hobbies?
Many manual jobs require working with tools such as saws or hammers or screw and similar things, and if you are someone who likes to make DIY projects you certainly handled some of these tools yourself at some point. Everytime something pointy or tiny is being used you endanger your vision because a splinter or a shard of glass suffice to make you blind forever. This is why you should always pay attention to your eyes’ security. Shielding them from flying projectiles, shards and dust is important in any manual occupation.
And they do not only protect your eyes from tiny bits flying around, but they also protect you as a whole because people living in sunny areas, especially outside, often have difficulty seeing what exactly they’re working with. Working on a construction site is often a matter of millimeters, and having perfectly sharp vision at such moments is very important for the result of your work and for your safety because you could for instance hammer your fingers instead of a wall or you could make something fall down on a friend of yours because you didn’t see exactly where your hand was going when you tried to retrieve the hammer while sitting high up a construction site. All these are examples of work-related accidents which could easily have been avoided by simply having a pair of good safety sunglasses so you don’t need to squint while working and you can make sure to see everything well and clear.
