Due to pressure put on the lens, sometimes one may accidentally pop out of the frame. With our busy lives, it can be difficult to find time to take it to our local optometrist’s office to have it repaired: So it’s always great to know ways to repair such things ourselves. Luckily, popped-out lenses usually aren’t very difficult to put back into place.
Instructions
things you’ll need:
Phillips-head screwdriver
1 Hold the lens in firmly in your hand. Avoid holding the lens with any tool that can scratch or damage it.
2 Place the lens into the frame. Make sure you place it in the right direction. When you place the lens into the frame, do it from inside the frame and not from the outside.
3 Squeeze the edges of your lens into the frame — gently but firmly — with the pads of your fingers. Use both hands to pop them back into place. If you find that you have to exert a lot of pressure, it may be best to take them back to your optometrist’s office to have them professionally reinserted.
If your glasses are rimless, then you should pull the thin, clear line around the edge of the lens and carefully place it into the carved groove. If the line fits loosely, use your Phillips-head screwdriver to tighten the screw that holds the line on the frame. If the line is broken, you will need to have it professionally repaired.
