How to Repair an Eyeglass Nose Piece

Eyeglass nose pieces determine how well your glasses fit your face and how comfortable they are. If a nose piece breaks or gets bent out of line, you can repair it in a few different ways. In fact, most nose pieces can be easily repaired with an eyeglass repair kit without taking them to the doctor’s office or to a jeweler.

Instructions
1 Bend the nose piece back into place if it has been bumped out of alignment. Use your fingers to gently move the nose piece until it sits in a position that exactly mirrors the nose piece on the opposite side. Try on the glasses to make sure they sit on your face correctly and feel comfortable. If not, continue adjusting until you find a position that works.

2 Replace the nose pad if it fell off, is worn out or part if it was torn off. Sometimes the nose pads can wear flat, fall out, or parts of them can come off, causing the rough edge to cut into your nose and cause discomfort. Depending on the type of nose pads required by your glasses, either gently snap the nose pad off or remove it with a small screwdriver. Place the new nose pad into the bracket by snapping or screwing it in. Make sure to align the nose pad so the half that should face up is placed toward the top. Use the opposite nose pad as a guide.

3Use a small dab of super glue to reattach the piece to the frame if the glasses fell and the nose piece broke from the frame completely. Take great care in positioning the nose piece so that it is equal to the nose piece on the other side. Find a way to prop the nose piece and hold it in place as the glue dries.
