Eyeglasses allow those with less-than-perfect eyesight to experience proper vision. Their eyeglasses become an important necessity in everyday life, and any damage to them can inhibit function. When paint happens to find its way onto your glasses, you may panic. If the paint is still wet, simply wipe the frames with a damp cloth. If the paint has already dried, the process is a tad more difficult. If you can’t scrape the speckles with your fingernail, proceed with liquid removal.
Instructions
things you’ll need:
Cloths
Liquid dish soap
Small dish
Rubbing alcohol
Cotton swabs
1 Dampen a cloth with warm, soapy water. Rub the paint on the eyeglass frames with the damp cloth until it is removed. Continue with the remaining steps if the paint is still visible.
2 Fill a small dish with rubbing alcohol. Dip the tip of a cotton swab into the rubbing alcohol.
3 Rub the paint with the saturated cotton swab in a circular motion. Use a new cotton swab saturated in rubbing alcohol when the old one becomes soiled.
4 Continue rubbing the frames with the saturated cotton swab until you have removed the paint. Don’t get the rubbing alcohol on the lenses; it could dissolve the lens coating.
5 Wipe the frames with a clean cloth dampened with cool water. Wipe dry with a towel.
Tips & Warnings
Nail polish remover can be used in place of rubbing alcohol.
You can take your eyeglasses to your local vision center to have the paint professionally removed.
