Most children like to dress up in colorful and sparkly accessories. Keeping little hands busy with fun and creative ideas is always useful whether for a preschool class, a birthday party or just a rainy weekend with your own children or grandchildren. Using easy to find items, your printer and a little imagination, you will be able to help preschoolers make some pretty fancy, glittery and safe paper eyeglasses.
Instructions
things you’ll need:
Computer
Printer
Heavy construction paper of different colors
Markers
Scissors
White glue
Glitter
Pieces of fabric
Stickers
Cellophane paper of different colors
1 Turn on your computer and printer and print out a template for eyeglasses. If you are doing this for several children you might want to print out a few copies so each of them has his own template.
2 Lay the template on different colored heavy construction paper. Trace around the tracing and cut out the glasses template from the paper.
3 Decorate the eyeglasses with shapes, glitter or bits of fabric. Use white glue to secure the decorations on the paper eyeglasses. You can also use stickers or puffy shapes that have adhesive backs for a little extra glamour.
4 Allow the glue to dry for about 15 minutes. Cut out the cellophane paper in sizes that are a little bigger than the eyeholes of the eyeglass cutout. You can use different colored cellophane paper.
5 Attach the cellophane paper on the eyeholes. Apply white glue on the inner edges of the eyeholes and attach the cellophane paper from the back. Leave it to dry for 10 minutes.
Tips & Warnings
Write the name of each child on the inside of the glasses so that everyone will go home with the correct pair of glasses.
