Donating your used eyeglasses helps people who cannot afford to buy them. Eyeglasses are expensive for many seniors, children and people living below the poverty level in the United States and around the world. Lions Clubs International has provided millions of people with corrective glasses they could not otherwise afford.
Instructions
things you’ll need:
Pairs of eyeglasses
Eyeglass cases (if you have them)
Box
Protective wrapping; i.e., tissue paper, bubble wrap, etc.
Internet connection
1 Look up www.lionsclubs.org for local Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center addresses. There are recycle centers in many states and countries. You can also mail directly to Lions Clubs International Headquarters, Attention: Receiving Department, 300 West 22nd Street, Oak Brook, IL 60523, USA.
2 Clean the eyeglasses and make any necessary repairs if possible.
3 Put the eyeglasses in a case or wrap in protective material like tissue paper or bubble wrap. If you are donating more than one pair, wrap each pair separately. Seal the box securely and label clearly.
4 Go to post office, UPS or any preferred mailing service. Label the package “Fragile.”
