Painting can get messy. Despite being careful, the roller or brush may splatter small particles of paint onto your plastic eyeglass lenses. Luckily, it can be easily removed, regardless of whether the paint is still wet or it’s had time to dry. When cleaning the lenses, be sure to use a soft cloth. Using anything rough or abrasive, such as paper towels can cause small scratches.
Instructions
things you’ll need:
Cotton swab
Soft cloth
Nail polish remover
Eyeglass cleaning spray
1 Use your fingernail to lightly scratch or pick at the dry paint. Be sure to only scratch at the paint, not the plastic lenses.
2 Squirt one squirt of liquid hand soap onto a soft cloth. Rub into the lenses and attempt to remove paint flecks and spots. Rinse the glasses under warm tap water and dry with a microfiber cloth.
3 Dampen a cotton swab or soft cloth in nail polish remover if the paint still has not been removed. The cotton or cloth should be slightly damp, not dripping wet.
4 Rub the nail polish remover into the wet or dry paint. Lightly rub until all paint residue is removed.
5 Spray an eyeglass cleaning spray onto the lenses. Use a soft cloth to wipe away and clean the lenses.
Tips & Warnings
Acetone-based products, such as nail polish removers may remove certain coatings from eyeglass lenses. If your eyeglass lenses have been coated, use acetone based products sparingly.
