A polarizing filter is a small piece of tinted glass that can be attached to different cameras, both digital and nondigital. The glass is used to reduce the sun’s glare and give the pictures truer-to-life color. Although the polarizing filter can help reduce the glare of the sun, it is important to take all the precautions possible, especially when taking a picture of a person wearing eyeglasses.

Polarizing filter
1 Attach the polarizing filter onto the camera lens. Make sure the filter size is appropriate for the camera.
2 Position your subject so the sun is either on the left or the right of her. This is going to reduce any direct sunlight on her glasses.
3 Stand opposite of the person with the eyeglasses; so if the sun is on the person’s left, it is on your right.
4 Set up the picture so an object is completely blocking, or at least diffusing the sun from the person with the eyeglasses. This can be something like a tree, or if you have any light-diffusing gels or paper made for photography you can hold the material up between the sun and your subject to filter the amount of light falling on her. This kind of material can be purchased at most photography stores.
5 Take the picture. You should not get any eyeglass glare.
