Did You Realise That You Need a Certificate to Buy Special Effect Contact Lenses?

Were you aware that you can have bespoke special effect contact lenses? Well you can, many companies offer this option and will hand paint any design you wish onto lenses.

Marilyn Manson is one performer who wears custom-made contact lenses to achieve a strong visual impact.

Obviously a custom made pair of lenses is going to cost you more than something off-the-peg, but if you really wanted something different I am sure you wouldn’t mind paying the extra.

I have seen advertised a very good deal by a company who offer up to 80% discount on branded name contact lenses plus they carry a good line of colored cosmetic contact lenses.
This sounds like a very good deal to me.

There is such a huge choice of these special effect contact lenses that you could get bogged down in choosing, but I am sure that you will have something already in mind regarding the design.

You can choose to look like a cat or lizard with those weird shaped black centers to the eye, or just have a wild color change.

Purple and red seem like a drastic color change, and red is extremely popular at the moment, being high in the top ten. There are designs which look like explosions or the look of flames etc. Then there are the really weird gothic looking ones, I have seen one design which looked like a mouth full of fang-like teeth – now that really was peculiar, but dramatic if that is the kind of look you are going for.

There is another new option, a light-filtering lens. What this does is to make one particular color be enhanced and the wearer will see this color a lot stronger than other colors. These light-filtering lenses were produced it seems with sports people in mind. If you take yellow for instance, how beneficial this would be for a tennis player to be able to pick up the yellow much stronger, they would be able to see the ball so much clearer.

One thing I must stress – never share your lenses. You may go to a party wearing your latest special effect contact lenses and your friends may want to try them, but you would be putting your eyes at great risk if you do let someone else wear them. This is not crying wolf, the risk is very real and very great, you could even risk blindness. You must decline gracefully whilst explaining the danger to both of you.

There are three basic types of lens, the round ones which basically only cover the colored part of your eyes. Then there is Scleral which cover the whole of the eye, leaving no natural white showing at all. Then there is semi-scleral which cover a large part of the eye, but leave some natural white showing at the corners of the eyes. The round ones are by far the easiest to wear and to handle for parties. Plus they are the least expensive.
