How to Remove Eyeglass Lens Scratches

Most eyeglass lenses are now made of high-tech plastics. These weigh less than glass lenses but are less scratch-resistant. Even if your plastic lenses have been coated to prevent scratching, they are not 100 percent scratch-proof. They can still get scratched and worn over time. You can remove the lens scratches at home with just a few household items.

Instructions
things you’ll need:
Soft lint-free cloth
Furniture polish in spray bottle

1 Rinse the eyeglasses with tap water and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.

2 Spray a pea-sized amount of furniture polish on the scratched lens, just enough to cover it. Rub the lint-free cloth against the scratch using a circular motion for five seconds.

3 Examine the lens to see if the scratch is removed. If the scratch is still visible, repeat the procedure with the furniture polish and lint-free cloth.

4 Rinse the lens with tap water, once the scratch is removed. Wipe the lens dry with the soft cloth.

Tips & Warnings
Rub the lens gently, as vigorous rubbing could damage the surface of the lens.
