Many people want to wear contacts for many reasons. The most obvious reason is that they don’t find a pair of eye glasses that they feel comfortable in. Usually you can find a good pair of glasses that is going to cost you too much for you to afford them, and you won’t be able to buy them. Also if you are involved in a lot of physical activity during the day, you are going to face the problems of wearing glasses. They tend to fall from your head if you don’t use one of those bands that go around your head – many people don’t want to wear it because of the way it looks. Contact lenses on the other hand solve most of these issues, but in the end they can be quite a trouble to use. You will have to take them out every night and put them back in your eyes in the morning – well not any more since there are continuous wear contact lenses that can be easily used for a month straight without taking them out.
The traditional lenses are made out of hard materials that need to be taken out from your eyes to give them a rest. The usual time frame is to wear them during the day, and then take them out for the night. This will give you about fifteen to eighteen hours of wearing the lenses, and then taking them off for a good six hours or more. This is enough to allow your eyes to breathe – to get oxygen from the air – and to recover from the stress that the hard contacts are putting you eyes under. Soft contacts are better in the way that they feel when you wear them – many people don’t get so much irritation in their eyes for wearing soft lenses because they are going to mold in to your eye shape a little bit better. The problem is that they too need to be taken out on regular intervals to allow your eyes to rest.
Breathable lenses on the other hand let your eyes breath better, and help you avoid infections and corneal oxygen deficiency. They on the other hand still need to be taken out. Continuous wear contact lenses are breathable lenses that can be worn for 30 days straight without taking them off. After that you are supposed to stay a few days without any contacts, to give your eyes some time to recover – you are supposed to wear your glasses during this time. After that you can put the continuous wear contact lenses back on and wear them for another 30 days. This is the easiest way to wear contacts, and the only thing that you will have to remember is that you are wearing contacts, and take them out in a month.
